Our Services
Apricot Care is aware that the requirements of our clients may change on a daily basis. For example if there is a call to help someone to get up in the morning but they decide they wish to stay in bed a little longer, the carer will ensure that everything is provided to enable this to happen. Apricot Care’s range of services will aim to meet the required needs of each client;
24 Hour Care
Apricot Care can provide 24 hour care, assessed on an individual basis and tailored to the needs of that individual. This may allow for many visits in the day or a combination of hourly support and night duty. At the same time we feel that it is important that the agreed plan allows continuity of care.
Personal Care
The care worker will be able to undertake personal care such as helping clients to get up in a morning, washing, dressing, toileting, bed-making, helping to get into bed at night, etc. The carer can also help/prompt the client to take medicines (see Administration of Medication Policy) that have been prescribed by the Doctor or Nurse, subject to certain limitations which would be explained to the client and carer as necessary.
Preparation of Meals and Snacks
Meals can be prepared by the care worker as specified in the care plan, such as breakfast, mid-day meal, evening meal or supper, and any other snacks or drinks. If desired the care worker will sit and keep the client company while a meal is being eaten. This will be specified in the care plan.
Personal Services
The individual plan can include,for example, tasks such as shopping lists and doing the shopping, managing personal affairs such as birthdays, anniversaries, and, with permission, collecting pensions. Exact needs will be identified in the individual care plan for the client.
Domestic and Home Help Services
Light domestic duties can be undertaken by the care worker, including for example; vacuuming, dusting and general cleaning, washing up, and personal laundry. The care worker can also help with light gardening and fuel supplies. This will need to be discussed at the time of drawing up the individual care plan.
Care at Night
Care will normally be offered between the hours of 6am to 10pm. The care plan for an individual may however include 24 hour cover.
